Healthy Snacking with Kashi #eatpositive

Well, we’re almost two weeks into 2014! That’s a little hard to believe. So, are you guys sticking with your January goals? I’ve done really good with my “green smoothie a day” challenge. I’ve only missed one day and that’s because I ran out of greens…. I was just too darn lazy to go and buy more.

If your family is anything like mine, you did lots of snacking over the holidays and not much healthy snacking. Ever since the kids have went back to school and me back to work, we are now back to bringing healthy snacks with us. I have to admit, it feels so much better to be snacking a little more healthfully.

I’ve been a huge fan of Kashi products for a long time and they have a brand new bar that makes healthy snacking really easy. The new crunchy granola and seed bars come in two flavors – Honey Oat Flax and Chocolate Chip Chia. It can be a bit difficult to get my picky kiddos to eat healthy snacks and they LOVED these bars. Just one of the many great things about these granola bars; they contain chia seeds, flax and quinoa…. things my kids wouldn’t normally be getting in their after-school snack.

My personal favorite was the Honey Oat Flax. I just can’t get enough of that lovely honey flavor! These bars are crunchy, but they’re not so crunchy that you feel like you’re going to break a tooth off with every bite. They are very easy to crumble up in yogurt or almond milk. The perfect addition to your breakfast, snack or after dinner dessert!

  2. Absolutely -adore- Kashi. I haven’t tried many of their products besides cereal (thanks Canada!), but the cereals I’m absolutely smitten with. As for healthy snacks, lately I’m really loving homemade granola bars, but you can never go wrong with yogurt messes or fruit and nut butter!
