Happy Sunday, friends! I hope wherever you are you are staying warm and cozy, inside. I wanted to pop in and let you know that today is the last day to register for the Conscious Cleanse.

I’ve done several posts on the Conscious Cleanse and have a whole page on the blog dedicated to my thoughts and some CC recipes, here. The Conscious Cleanse is not your normal cleanse and detox plan and is not all about drinking your meals. I have a major sweet tooth and when I get out of the routine of clean eating; I can go a little crazy when it comes to craving sugar and constant snacking. The Conscious Cleanse is just what I need to reel it in and get back to a cleaner way of eating, especially after the holiday splurging.

The Conscious Cleanse way of eating focuses around loading up on veggies, especially dark leafy greens and eliminating foods that are often allergens and foods that should only be consumed every once in a while, even after the cleanse {like alcohol, sugar and gluten}. Some of the foods that are off-limits during the cleanse {and possibly may be an allergen}, but can be tested after the cleanse to see how your body reacts to them are; tomatoes, strawberries, oranges, peanuts, shellfish, eggs, squash and sweet potatoes.

On the cleanse, there are food combining guidelines to follow. Protein and grains can be combined with veggies, but not in the same meal. Therefore, you will choose either a protein or a grain to eat with your veggies. It is also advised to not mix grains or proteins. For example, you can have black beans in your salad, but not black beans and chicken in your salad. Also, fruit should be eaten alone and on an empty stomach or blended into a smoothie. Speaking of the smoothie, it is STRONGLY encouraged to have a green smoothie everyday for breakfast.

The weekends of the cleanse (or any other two days that you prefer) are purification days. During purification days, you are to eat only fruits and veggies. This wasn’t as bad as I initially thought it would be. The main things that I missed were almond milk in my smoothies and avocado in my salad.

At the conclusion of the cleanse, I had absolutely NO sugar cravings and I really felt like I was finally learning to eat intuitively. And best of all, I lost almost 10 pounds!! The bloating and heaviness, that I was feeling before the cleanse, was gone. I was VERY pleased with the results of the cleanse.

With the group cleanse, you get to participate in live conference calls during different phases of the cleanse {this was SO helpful}, you are part of a cleanse group on Facebook {great support with continuous Q&A}, and get the Conscious Cleanse manual {a breakdown of the book}.

The kick off is Saturday, Jan. 11th, so registration is closing tomorrow to have time to get everything ready to start the transition on Wednesday, Jan. 8th. If you’ve been thinking about signing up, now is the time!

  1. Sounds like a great plan! I’m cleansing this new year but incorporating a salad everyday and it sounds like their plans is totally on the same level as my mindset :)

    • I’m a huge salad fan, but I think I burnt myself out on the because lately I just haven’t felt like them. That will have to change, though, once the cleanse starts.

  2. Great plan! I think it’s awesome that there are actual group calls. Bet it keeps you on track & motivated, huh? :)
