Happy weekend, guys! I’m headed off to get in a 7 mile run and then off to Body Pump. I’ve got to make up for the work I didn’t do last night. I was so tired that after I got home from work, I just sat on my butt and watched Grey’s Anatomy. Which by the way, was a pretty good idea.
Anyway, I wanted to check in real quick and give you this irresistible chocolate spread recipe. It tastes very much like Nutella, but it’s much healthier. And much cheaper, too! Try it…. you’ll like it!
A healthier and just as tasty alternative to Nutella!
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life chips, which are dairy, nut and soy free.)
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1-2 tablespoons pure raw honey
- pinch of salt
- Make almonds into almond butter, using a food processor or high-speed blender.
- Heat chocolate chips, almond milk, honey and salt over medium heat in a small saucepan. Stir frequently and heat until all of the chocolate is melted. Allow to cool slightly, then add melted chocolate to almond butter and combine in food processor. Mixture will be very liquidy. Store in a covered glass jar or container in the fridge. The chocolate spread will harden and thicken up after being stored in the fridge. Enjoy!
Something to think about…..
Do you love Nutella? If so, you should really give this recipe a try.
What’s your favorite use for chocolate spread? Apples and bananas are perfect for dipping! But have you tried pretzels dipped in chocolate nutbutter? Beyond delicious!
Hope your weekend’s perfect!
