Constantly Killing Time and Giveaway Winner Announced

Oh….how I love you, Saturday!! Who else is with me on this one?!?!?! I hope everyone is having a fun and/or relaxing Saturday….whichever you are wishing for!

After school on Friday, Madelyn had horse lessons. Her horse trainer has two daughters around Madelyn’s age and Madelyn got to stay for a sleepover. Nice for me and Madelyn. I love my kiddos, but it’s always nice to have alone time with the hubby too!

Very exciting news, too!! Thanks to Brad’s parents, Madelyn has her very own pony that will be arriving on Friday. How cool is that!?!?! I know you guys are not interested in watching a video of a horse walking around, but I don’t have any photos yet and this way ya’ll can get a peek at what Monk looks like. Not our favorite name, but I’m sure it will grow on us. ;)

Landen had gymnastics about an hour-and-a-half after we left….so off to Starbucks to kill a little time. The story of my life, I tell ya!! Sometimes I feel like I’m constantly killing time to get to the next activity. It’s just important to kill time and NOT waste time. What do you do when you’re killing time? I either go to the grocery store, read, blog, eat or shop. Yesterday, it was a Pike’s Place with sugar-free cinnamon dolce and blogging….not a bad combo!

It was a pickup food kind of night. My favorite salad from my favorite little Italian restaurant to the rescue.

After eating I made out my grocery list for the week and yes, we are in desperate need of pretty much everything. I know I’ve been letting you guys down with the lack of recipes lately, but hopefully I can get at least two recipes up on the blog next week. It’s just been a really busy couple of weeks and I haven’t felt like cooking or creating. I know….excuses, excuses!

Okay, you’ve suffered through all of my rambling, it’s time to announce the Vita Top Carrot Cake winner!!!!

  1. That salad sure does look so good right now. Horses are just beautiful animals. I love to look at horses but I get too nervous riding them. I have ridden them before but when I do I just cringe. Just get me on a small pony and I will be happy.

  2. The salad looks so delicious. And yay for a pony!! I was obsessed by riding hourses when I was younger. Same here when killing time! Grocery, blogging and reading blogs, when at home meal prep. Happy weekend!!!

  3. Her own pony! That would have been a dream come true for me as a kid! I’m trapped inside all weekend thanks to the snow, so I’ll have plenty of time to meal prep today! Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to brave the snow to get groceries! Ugh!

  4. I’ve wanted to go horse back riding my entire life, but since I had allergies my mom wouldn’t let me. Now that I’m a grown up part of me wants to just pop a claritin and take my chances!

  5. So true, I always find myself trying to cram as much as possible into the day. Whenever I have free time it’s hard just to do nothing and relax.

  6. That picture of Madelyn and the horse is gorgeous. You should absolutely get that framed!!

  7. A new pony? Squee! She must be over the moon! I wanted a pony -so badly- growing up, but circumstances just didn’t allow it. We had some friends of the family that owned horses though, so I’m thankful to have been able to do a decent amount of riding when I was little :) And when I have a little bit of time to kill, I’m usually either reading a book/blog or writing up some blog posts.

  8. A pony! Ah, that is too amazing, I always wanted one when I was a kid:) Doesn’t ever girl though haha. We did have a barn right behind our house that had horses and I loved going over there so fun!
I definitely get impatient when I have extra time, but I try to use it to catch up on reading and blogs!

  9. I love to hear that Madelyn is getting a pony! I have competitively ridden horses all my life and recently had to sell mine due to grad school time and money commitments. I think the responsibility of taking care of a horse, riding, and building up the partnership is a great activity! She is going to have so much fun with her pony and learn a lot not only about horses but important life lessons as well.
