fun finds at Trader Joe’s

Is everyone having a fabulous weekend? I hope so! Mine is going great.

Workout for the day yesterday was a 4 mile run and then bodypump. Morning workouts are just SO great. Who’s with me on this? I feel so much better when I’m able to workout in the morning rather than in the evenings after work. I wish I could make this a regular thing, but since I already have to wake up at 4:30 to make it to work on time…..that’s not going to be happening.

It’s pretty cold and windy out this morning and the gym doesn’t open until 1:00, so I think I’ll come up with an at home (inside) workout and maybe post it later this week. We’ll see what I can come up with.

Yesterday and today, Madelyn has a long dance session to learn her competition routine. So, with all this extra time on my hands, what do I do? Shop, of course! ;)

I got some great deals at Old Navy on fleece. Gap was having a sale on sweaters and pants and I picked up a few sweatshirts and a cable knit sweater. I also picked up some Clinique makeup at Macy’s and by the way they’re having a Bonus right now…..and it’s a good one.

I love this black honey lipstick and the makeup remover!

Who else is on the #plantPOWER challenge with powercakes and theloveofkale? Yesterday the challenge was to eat something blue and I had a flax blueberry banana microwave muffin for one (paleo & gluten-free). It was scrumptious and I’ll have the recipe up tomorrow!

Today’s challenge is to eat something purple. Too bad I don’t have any eggplant, but I do have grapes and figs. ;)

Now for all of the fun and yummy things I found at Trader Joe’s when I was there on Thursday…..

This find tops my list. I’m pretty much eating this at every meal…..so good!

Both of these are very tasty snacks. The roasted plantain chips only contain plantains, sunflower oil and salt. The apple crisps do have sugar, but other than that the ingredients are pretty good.

Another great snack find! We make these often with just a little olive oil and sea salt…it’s one of the few veggies Alexis will eat. I’ve never tried them with any other seasoning and these were really different in a good way. All good ingredients and a great salad topping.

I really like this taco seasoning. The only ingredients are spices. Of course, you can make your own, but this is just so convenient.

Again, you can make your own, but if you don’t have time, this is a very tasty healthy marinara.

And a little more pumpkin. I had the pumpkin tea last night and it had a great flavor. Very comforting and warming. I haven’t tried the pumpkin soup, but I’m thinking my microwave pumpkin muffin would be a perfect pairing.

I’ve been enjoying these for awhile now. They are a must try and they go great with raw almonds for the perfect snack.

Hope you guys enjoyed my finds. If you have a great find to share, please leave a comment. Have a great Sunday, especially those of you that get a 3 day weekend!

  1. I’m interested in trying their taco seasoning . . . good to know the ingredients are clean!

Just last night, we tried one of their new-to-me products: Kimchi. I’m going to post about it this week, but overall, we weren’t totally impressed. It was okay (and the ingredients were all fine), but we felt the flavor was a bit off.
