I heart chia seeds

Hello!

If you don’t use chia seeds in your foods on a normal basis; you’re missing out. I can find them at all grocery stores in my area. However, the last time I bought them, I ordered them from SwansonVitamin.com because I was ordering some other stuff, I was out, and they had a really good price.

I frequently add a tablespoon of chia seeds to my smoothie, cottage cheese, yogurt or cereal. They are also great to put in oats and really thicken them up. I use them in my overnight oats or oats cooked over the stove top. You can seriously sprinkle them on a myriad of different foods; veggie dishes, salads, eggs, and potatoes.

I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but have heard some really good things around the blogosphere about these chia drinks. Click on the pictures to be taken to the websites.

Recently, I learned about this recipe from a couple of fellow bloggers Kasey, Brittany, and Angela. Chia seed jam can be put on anything from pancakes to toast {even eggs ;)} and mixed in yogurt or oats. If you click on the links, you’ll see that everyone has their own variation. I want to take a moment to remember all of the lives lost and their families on this date 11 years ago. I didn’t know anyone directly involved in the attack; but I certainly will never forget that entire day and the extreme feeling of sorrow and helplessness that I along with all of America was experiencing. Please take an extra few minutes to give your family a big hug and tell them how much you love them.
