Thursday Things “Playlist for the Gym”

To run with music or without……that is the question. People can be pretty passionate either way. I have experimented both ways and, for me, have found running WITH music to be much more effective. When I listen to music on my run, my pace is much quicker, my run seems to go by faster and I feel more motivated to continue running.

In fact, research shows that with the right song a nonelite runner can increase efficiency by 20% and reduce tiredness. One particular study reported that fast tempo songs work best (no surprise there).

Isn’t that just the best?!? ;)

Here’s what I’ve been running to recently:

Blow Me (One Last Kiss) by P!nk

Want U Back by Cher Lloyd

Starships by Nicki Minaj

Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson

You and I by Lady GaGa

We Found Love by Rihanna

Super Bass by Nicki Minaj

Brighter Than the Sun by Colbie Caillat

Domino by Jessie J

Animal by Neon Trees

Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys

Fighter by Christina Aguilera

Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons

Lose Yourself by Eminem

These Are Days by 10,000 Maniacs

Just a Girl by No Doubt

Good Feeling by Flo Rida

Good Life by OneRepublic

I’m always looking for new songs to keep things from getting boring. If you have suggestions of songs your loving right now, leave me a comment!
